Beryllium copper alloy bars find use in many applications, including aerospace and MRO.
The alloy provides superior strength as well as electrical and thermal conductivity. Smiths MRO offer a range of beryllium copper in a number of grades, condition and specifications. Our range includes:
C17200 - a beryllium copper alloy that Smiths MRO stocks according to specification AMS 4650, which is solution annealed (TB00). It offers good machinability and conductivity features typical to beryllium copper. The grade is also available to AMS 4651 (TB04) to provide higher strength and hardness, which is particularly useful if less machining is required. Our sizes range from 0.25" up to 6" in diameter.
AMS 4533 also relates to C17200 - it represents the most commonly utilised beryllium copper alloy, and we supply it in the solution annealed condition. AMS 4534 covers precipitation treated (TH04) beryllium copper grade C17200. Smiths MRO can offer round bars in a wide range of sizes.
C72900 AMS 4596 - a copper-nickel tin alloy, often used in bushings and bearings on the wheels and brakes of aircraft, as well as in landing gear due to the alloy's superior performance under high pressure.
Beryllium copper alloys are the strongest copper-based raw materials available.
Beryllium copper is often referred to as beryllium bronze or spring copper. Aerospace applications include electrical connectors, fasteners, structural components and advanced systems, particularly in military aircraft.
Material Range
Our stock range includes the finest quality alloys selected explicitly to support the MRO sector. We recognise that an aircraft out of service is a huge cost; therefore, we stock the right products to suit your engineering requirements.
Our export team have a wealth of experience and organises the transport and paperwork to ensure you receive your materials on time.
With our continual investment in MRO-specific stock, we offer fast response times and often dispatch your order on the very same day.
