2024 aluminium is one of the most used aluminium grades in the aerospace industry. The alloy provides high strength and good fatigue resistance, making it suitable for structural aircraft applications, including fuselage and wing sections. Our plates offer good machinability and good workability in the annealed state. The alloy gives a high strength to weight ratio, which is highly desirable in commercial aerospace applications.
2024 Aluminium plate is available from Smiths MRO according to the AMS 4037 specification and AMS QQA 250/4 in thicknesses from 0.25" and above. We also offer the British BS L97 and ASNA, ABS and LN specifications in some thicknesses. We ship 2024 plates directly from stock with fast dispatch with offcuts and full plates available within one day of your order and cut pieces ready to despatch the following day.
We accurately cut your plates to size and have no minimum order quantity (MOQ). Our plate saws cut aluminium from 3mm thickness up to 8" thickness to tight tolerances. Our plate saws are 4 metres wide, allowing us to cut small or long thin pieces.
